Luba Ryder
My name is Luba Ryder and I have been painting ever since I can remember.
I gain inspiration from nature, the ocean and the bush as we are all part of this creation.
The light playing on the ocean and the sound of the waves creates a sense of awe and calm while at the same time the energy reminds me that the sea is a living breathing movement that entrances and takes us to a magical place.
I have worked with many mediums such as oils, acrylics, water colour, acrylics and pastels. Pastels being my favourite at the moment as they capture the soft quality needed for an ocean scene.
The Quininup series was inspired by the ocean at Margaret River where the long walks amongst wildflowers, bushes and ocean merge to entice the visitor to stop and take in the magic of all that surrounds them.
Janet Gouteff
I’m always in awe of artists. Artists offer a piece of their heart every time they create something and it doesn’t matter if one person sees it or 1000. When I was younger, I was fascinated with the master painters of old, but wasn’t able to embrace my own innate creativity until mid-life, busting self-myths that I wasn’t arty or wasn’t good enough.
A self-taught artist, I enjoy the freedom of play, enthusiasm and experimentation in my art and enjoy painting colourful abstracts; seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary. Acrylics are my preferred medium. I love their quick drying times and vibrant colours.
I’ve had the privilege to exhibit my work in a number of local government art awards and I enjoy giving back to the art community through volunteering with various community art groups.
I love sharing the art journey and assisting people to bust their own myths that hold back their creative and radiant selves.
Anita Martin
I have always loved art…..painting and drawing and wonder how my life would have been if I had taken up the opportunity I had, years ago, of going to Art College. However, my love of travel won over and landed me in Australia from the UK in the early eighties.
Now that I have more time on my hands, I have picked up the paintbrush again and have enjoyed getting lost in the world of art! I experimented with pastels which I fell in love with straight away which lead me to join the Pastel Society of WA. I belong to NCAC also and paint with acrylics and watercolour and have been dabbling with Alcohol Inks which is taking me outside my comfort zone of Realism, but I love the vibrancy of the colours.
I have been commissioned to do some artworks for friends and family over the past few years. Below are some of the works I have done , including pictures of peoples homes and wedding bouquets. John Mason
Bright bold colours render my art both alluring and attractive. I aim to provoke an emotive response from the viewer to bring about a warm and joyful feeling, as we absorb art on display.
My portfolio contains a diverse collection of colourful work. Several of my pieces depict life in the tropics, in particular Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands where I lived for 13 years.
I draw heavily upon my vivid imagination when working on abstract depictions. I love to create and communicate my ideas into visual form onto a blank canvas.
Art has certainly enriched my life, I hope same can enrich someone else’s life as my creations hang prominently displayed on their walls.
Those who engage with my art should feel joy coupled with feel-good energy, as they form a good harmonious relationship with contrasting colours and vitality that rises up from my canvases.
Painting is therapeutic, I enjoy disappearing into my creativeness as I apply rich, vibrant colours to my canvas. Through my art; I wish to put a smile on viewer’s faces, and bring joy to their heart.
My artwork serves as a positive and uplifting solace in these somewhat challenging times. Viewers of same can appreciate the impact of colour, an incredible tool that brings about a soothing calmness. Accordingly I savour the chance to create art for others to experience and be transformed by.
Art is vital to connect local communities, shape culture, and foster wellbeing. I have an innate desire to express myself and my creative pursuits help relieve stress, encourage creative thinking, boost my self-esteem, and provide a sense of accomplishment. . I welcome the visit of a curator to my Carramar studio to view my creations first hand.
Michelle Henderson Profile
Michelle loves the beauty and diversity of Australian flora and fauna. She was born
here in Perth and a love of local beaches has led to her embracing natural ocean
elements in some of her paintings. These include shells, coral and rockpool scenes.
She also paints bushland themes including native wildflowers and animals as well as
fantasy items such a stylised dragonflies and abstracts.
Michelle works in watercolour, acrylic, textiles and mixed media and likes to show the
wonder of small hidden treasures of the natural world in her works.

John Ned Kelly
As a country boy born in Quairading John discovered his artistic talent early, at school he became known as the ‘class artist’. John embraced his talent and has continued to paint throughout his life. In recent years with more time and a deep yearning within he has focused his attention on steadily building a body of work.
John says of himself “Being an artist is who I am, it comes from very deep inside,” this drive to paint has been fed by a constant flow of inspiration. Not content to remain with one subject or style John’s work moves from traditional to the surreal and back again. Each crafted work comes with its own insights and commentary on life and he is always pushing his creativity to its limits with new ideas and techniques.
John’s medium of choice is Acrylics; the quickly drying paint allows him to apply the brush while inspiration flows. A perfectionist at heart John will revisit a painting again and again stepping away to let the final image to reveal itself. This often means a steep learning curve working out how to bring his vision to life. He uses dark backgrounds as his base because he likes the way it adds depth and impact – “ I love to bring subjects to life from the dark.”
The Iconic Stockman Series of paintings come hot on the heels of his successful solo exhibition in the Swan Valley in August of 2019. There is limited stock available as editions are running at 100 prints per painting.

Christine Farrell

Annis Woods
I took up painting in 2016 after a serious illness prompted a revaluation of my lifestyle and goals. Having been given a terminal cancer diagnosis of 6 to 9 months to live, it was a wakeup call to say the least. I felt the need to spend whatever time I had left enjoying myself. It also ignited a passion to leave something behind for family and friends, something to be remembered by if you will.
One 4 hr Pastel workshop on seascapes got me hooked, I have not put down the pastels since! I quickly started exhibiting and selling paintings as I ran out of wall space. Many of my works are held in private collections in USA, Barbados, Northern Cyprus, Switzerland the UK and here in Australia. Many have been gifted to family and friends or charity and 9 were paid commissions.
I now enjoy painting most subjects and have started to explore other mediums. I continue to attend classes to improve my skills and learn new techniques. I find painting very therapeutic; it takes your mind off everything, and you can forget whatever worries you have.

Jenny Ellis-Newman
I have always loved painting and began painting professionally thirteen years ago. My formal art education consists of four years of art study at high school followed by a semester at East Sydney Technical College. Although my preferred medium is acrylic I also experiment with mixed media and a variety of styles and subjects. My favourite subjects to paint are seascapes, birds, animals, abstracts and children but I am willing to paint other subjects when commissioned. I love to take on challenges and extend my skills with a variety of subjects, often working on up to four paintings at a time as my mood takes me. I have a large studio attached to my home, which you are welcome to visit, and there is always a painting in progress on one of my easels.
