The first exhibition for the 2012 calendar year at Newcastle Art Space begins this week.

(Gallery 1)  Ocean Dawn Ocean Dusk - Alex Sutherland

An exhibition of photography taken over a three year period working aboard the fishing vessel Mildred Joyce Sutherland. The main subject matter is sunrises & sunsets taken from on or nearby the ocean. The exhibition also documents some of the experiences of working on a Prawn Trawler on the
seas off Newcastle to the Mid North Coast of NSW.

(Gallery 2) INSCRIPTION  – Frank Murri.

The nature of the work to be presented for the exhibition Inscription, consists of wall hung, timber relief sculptural works. These pieces have been formed to incorporate mathematical formulas, literature and musical scores. These unique works advocate pure abstraction in an attempt to synthesize a design aesthetic.
